The water management industry in Malaysia has developed tremendously from its humble beginnings since the country gained independence in 1957. The water industry, a critical sector that focuses on the management, treatment and distribution of water resources, encompasses a wide range of activities, including water supply, wastewater treatment, water conservation and management of water resources. It plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of clean and safe water for various uses, such as drinking, agriculture, industry and environmental sustainability.
The inaugural “WaterTech Asia 2027” exhibition and conference in Penang, set to be held on Dec 5-7, 2027 at PWCC, will provide an excellent platform for the industry to propel forward and be competitive internationally, especially in the post Covid-19 pandemic era and current global economic turmoil. The event would see a force multiplying effect as it helps to strengthen and support the Malaysian government’s effort to make the country a regional hub for water management professionals and related supporting industries to converge and expand their global operations. WaterTech Asia 2027 would also integrate all segments of the industry to provide a one-stop centre for sourcing new and innovative products and services.
